SA bucks national business trend.

Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2006

Byline: Scott Murdoch

Aug 08, 2006 (The Advertiser - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A survey of business trends released by National Australia Bank on 8 August 2006 puts South Australia ahead of the national average. This is the first time the state has achieved this in more than a year. At the same time it still lags Western Australia and Queensland. Generally, business confidence is down largely due to higher production costs. This was confirmed by another survey by Dun & Bradstreet. It found that expectations are now at levels last seen during the 1991 recession. The major concerns are high fuel prices and rising interest rates.
