Skills squeeze on tax.

Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2006

Byline: Andrew Colley

Aug 07, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Taxation Office is experiencing a possible "skills squeeze" in its $A450m technology program. It plans to migrate to a new mainframe by December 2007. The delay has been caused by a skills shortage to complete a significant part of the project. The office is competing with the Department of Immigration & Multicultural Affairs (DIMIA). which is undergoing a $A495m system overhaul. Both the office and DIMIA are using Siebel for their technology programs.
