Aug 07, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has issued its salary data for the IT sector covering the year to May 2006. The annual survey shows that remuneration rose in the industry by 4.3% on average, closely tracking the median for the Australian workforce overall, which stood at 4.4%. However, some disparities were found between the private and public sectors in IT, with wages growth of 4.5% and 3.8% respectively. About 1,500 of the ACS's own members took part in the data gathering exercise. Remuneration increases were found to be highest for those teaching IT or consulting in recent years.
