Smartphones to overtake MP3 players.

Aug 07, 2006 (Electronics News - ABIX via COMTEX) -- According to ABI Research, consumers are likely to switch from MP3 players to mobile phones with hard disk drives. Recent mobile telephone models are equipped with large storage hard disks, including the Nokia N91 with 4 GB, and Samsung SGH-i310 with 8 GB. Alan Varghese, an analyst at ABI Research, says mobile telephones can now handle mobile music, telephone calls, digital photography, email, and Web browsing.
