Sep 27, 2006 (New Scientist - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Many diets are simply fads that do not lead to any permanent weight loss. A study published in "The Journal of the American Medical Association" shows that a dietary fibre diet is ineffective. A low-fat diet does not bring expected results either. Scientists cannot agree what constitutes a good diet. Marion Nestle, a professor at New York University, says that responsible nutritionists would not speculate on super diets. Their advice is what everyone knows instinctively: eat less and exercise more.
