Group 8 talks pick up speed.

Sep 25, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Seven or eight Australian Government agencies are offering several lucrative telecommunications contracts. Group 8, which includes the departments of Agriculture and Environment, as well as the Civil Aviation Authority and the Public Service Commission, wants new service suppliers in the areas of fixed data, fixed voice, conferencing services, internet gateway, mobile telephones, mobile data and ancillary services. The eight member of the group, the Australian Communications & Media Authority, may or may not take part. Group 8 says it is in discussions with 10 companies.
