Pilot backs emissions backing.
Australasian Business Intelligence, September, 2006
Sep 25, 2006 (Environmental Business - ABIX via COMTEX) -- EPA Victoria has released a report on a national pilot program involving compulsory reporting of greenhouse gas emissions. The Greenhouse Gas Reporting & Disclosure Pilot was run by the Victorian Government in partnership with all states and territories. EPA states in the report that a reporting system could be put in place to begin in 2007. Geoff Latimer, manager of atmosphere & noise at EPA, says the pilot shows that the National Pollutant Inventory is a suitable mechanism for the reporting and disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions in Australia.
