Sep 20, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Saatchi & Saatchi was the best performing Australian advertising agency for the year to 31 August 2006. It signed accounts totalling $A146 million. In second place was Singleton, Ogilvy & Mather, which signed $A101 million worth of business. Global agencies account for all of the top 10 positions after independent, Smart Creative, was ousted by McCann-Erickson. Accounts up for review over the period totalled $A556 million, 23 per cent down on 2005. Saatchi's most significant win was the renewal of its contract with David Jones.
