Citizenship test 'could face court'.

Sep 19, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Government plans to introduce a citizenship test for those wanting to settle in the country. It would ascertain the knowledge of Australian cultural values and the English language proficiency of the applicant. However, the Australian National University's director of the Centre for International & Public Law, Kim Rubenstein, warns the necessary legislation must be carefully prepared, or the courts will need to deal with legal action by those failing the exam.
