Coles restructure dubbed 'political'.

Sep 19, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A former Coles Myer marketing executive has criticised the Australian retailer's plans to incorporate the Kmart Australia and Bi-Lo businesses under the Coles brand. The former GM of marketing said the restructure was a political move designed to remove the team of former group GM of marketing and strategy, Tom Lemke. The restructure has cut at least eight GM-level marketing positions at the retailer, leaving only four senior staff responsible for key marketing disciplines in the group food, liquor, variety and fuel businesses. A spokesman for the company said the restructure was solely linked to Coles Myer's new strategic direction, and was in no way a political move.
