Sep 14, 2006 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- From 2007, the University of New South Wales will start to formally recognise the extra-curricular activities of its students. The university has announced that it will start issuing graduates with certificates detailing the contributions, such as volunteer work and international exchanges, made outside of formal study. Graduates will be able to present the certificates to prospective employers as an indication of their non-academic achievements. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia has welcomed the move, claiming that accounting professional tend to seek candidates with skills such as "get-up-and-go".
