[1582] Corporate Tax Association welcomes revised compliance booklet, but has some concerns.

Sep 11, 2006 (Weekly Tax Bulletin - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has released an updated version of its "Large business and tax compliance" booklet. Commenting on the booklet, which was issued on 30 August 2006, the Corporate Tax Association claims that the booklet appears to have addressed its concerns to some extent regarding the carrying out of audits of large companies. However, the Association, which represents the tax interests of most large firms in Australia, claims many companies remain concerned about the ATO's powers concerning the gathering of information.
