Sep 06, 2006 (Travel Weekly - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Travel tips have become more personal with internet users uploading their photographs and experiences on websites. Web 2.0 technology has enabled consumers to share travel information and interact with other travellers. US-based TripAdvisor has attracted more than 350,000 members who rate each other's lists of the best and worst travel experiences. In Australia, Lonely Planet is the market leader with its bulletin board, The Thorn Tree, which receives input from over 500,000 members around the world. The Melbourne-based company plans to launch a new online initiative, Planit, in December 2006.
