Addict tells of baby's death.

Oct 26, 2006 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A Supreme Court of New South Wales jury has watched a video recording of a methadone addict's statement to police after her infant son died. The mother was at times incoherent and apparently asleep while she told police about her baby's deteriorating health before he died in January 2005.

Michelle Sava, a friend of the woman, told the jury the accused stopped attempts to resuscitate her son for a brief period to get a cigarette, but later resumed until paramedics arrived.
