Oct 22, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- An Australian campaign aims to reduce virus attacks on home computers. The Australian Government and the Internet Industry Association are promoting the "GetNetSafe" scheme, which aims to reduce attacks by viruses and trojan software. Eight software security vendors are supporting the campaign by providing free downloads of trial anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-spyware and firewall software. Spyware is now the most serious issue, with the risks increased by the rising use of broadband.
