Rebuilt Crane's profits to flow faster.
Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2006

Oct 26, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Crane Group has positioned itself to take advantage of Australia's growing investment in water infrastructure. The plumbing and building products supplier will supply $A20m of PVC piping to Victoria's $A500m Wimmera Malley water pipeline. Executives also have their eyes on other upcoming infrastructure projects throughout the nation. The positioning has been a smart move in the face of an uneven housing construction market. Crane recently moved away from its metals manufacturing and aluminium businesses, selling them and buying a quarter-stake in plastic pipe maker Iplex.
