Coles Myer to retain Kmart brand in NZ.

Oct 19, 2006 (Inside Retailing - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Coles Myer has previously announced that it will rebrand its Australian Kmart store as Coles outlets. However, the Australian retailer has advised it will not be doing the same with its 13 Kmart stores in New Zealand, with spokesperson Scott Whiffen noting they will retain the Kmart name, at least in the short term. Whiffen also says Coles Myer plans to open a 14th Kmart store in New Zealand at Whakatane by the end of 2006, with a 15th store scheduled to be opened at Westfield Albany in 2007.
