Oct 16, 2006 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Research Council (ARC) announced 1154 research grants in the week ending 14 October 2006. Worth more than $A365 million, the main beneficiaries of the ARC grants in high technology industries are data analysis, fibreoptics, quantum computing and wireless technology. Universities to gain ARC funding include the Australian National University, the Griffith University, the Macquarie University, the Queensland University of Technology, the University of Newcastle, the University of Queensland, the University of Sydney and the University of Technology, Sydney.
