Woolies forms joint venture in India.

Oct 12, 2006 (Inside Retailing - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Details of a retail joint venture in India involving Australia's Woolworths and India's Tata Group have been announced. The two firms will launch a series of consumer electronic stores under the "Croma" brand name. The stores will be owned and operated by Tata unit Infiniti Retail, while Woolworths' Dick Smith subsidiary will be involved in the sourcing of products for the venture. It is understood that Infiniti Retail wants to open in excess of 100 "Croma" stores by 2010.
