Oct 10, 2006 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Victoria University plans to introduce practical training in all undergraduate courses. The "community service learning" model will require all students in TAFE and university courses to spend one quarter of their course in an industry placement. The placement will be related to their area of study and assessed as part of the course. The initiative will be phased in from 2008. It is part of the university's plan to differentiate itself from rivals and to meet the needs of industry.
