Woodside, WA sort out deal on Pluto.

Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2006

Byline: Nigel Wilson

Oct 08, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A flexible approach by the Western Australian (WA) Government may allow the Pluto gas project to proceed. Woodside Petroleum discovered the offshore field in April 2005 and planned to fast-track its development. In 2006, the WA Government announced that up to 20 per cent of gas resources may have to be reserved for domestic use. Woodside felt that this would make the LNG development unviable. In early October, the Government said that the implementation of the policy could be varied so that 15 per cent of the overall gas stock was retained for local use.
