Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2006

Oct 06, 2006 (Food & Drink Business - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Philippines-based San Miguel is considering a float of some of its Australian assets in June 2006. San Miguel's global operations have experienced falling profits and rising debt, and the float of companies like Berri, National Foods and J Boag & Son could bring around $A1 billion into the business. San Miguel has previously stated it would invest around $A300 million in the construction of two bottling plants, but has not commented further on this plan. Ramon Ang, the president of San Miguel, has engaged bankers Morgan Stanley to investigate the possible floats.
