Oct 09, 2006 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia's interest rate and petrol price rises in 2006 have hurt business, executives believe. A survey of 1,200 manufacturing, wholesale and retail companies in the September quarter showed 34 per cent of executives believed business had suffered, with consumer spending the most affected. The survey was conducted by Dun & Bradstreet. Meanwhile a report on small to medium enterprises by National Australia Bank shows they are performing well. The index rose six points in the September quarter to 20.
