Jeremy Gruber, legal director of the National Workrights Institute based in Princeton, US, says US legislative bodies are slow in responding to the problem of computer monitoring. Sophisticated software is available to employers who want to spy on their employees. Wavecrest Computing sells Cyfin, which tracks everything employees do online. Cyfin is used by companies such as ExxonMobil, BT, Procter & Gamble, and the US Department of Justice.
