New delay for Austar offerings.

Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2006

Byline: Tony Boyd

Oct 01, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Austar United Communications has postponed its expansion into wireless broadband and personal digital recorders. The group had originally hoped to embark upon its foray into wireless broadband in mid-2007, but that date has been pushed back to late 2007, due to the time being invested in finalising standards for the use of WiMAX technology. Austar says the Australian Government's decision on the distribution of the $A878 million Broadband Connect package will also impact on the timing of the rollout. The company's shares ended trade $A0.05 higher on 29 September 2006, at $A1.17.
