Nov 15, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia is still off the radar when it comes to the international market for venture capital. A report in 2006 by Deloitte states that venture capitalists and private equity firms are increasingly looking for opportunities overseas. In Europe, the focus is on Central Europe and Asia, while Asia-Pacific investors are seeking opportunities in their own region, particular China and India. Australia was noticeably absent from the targets specifically mentioned. The problem appears to be one of distance.
