[2003] KPMG's Corporate Tax Rate Survey released.

Australasian Business Intelligence, November, 2006

Byline: Lisa Mak

Nov 15, 2006 (Weekly Tax Bulletin - ABIX via COMTEX) -- KPMG analysed company tax rates in 86 countries for the period from 1993 to 2006. In its report on the study, the consultancy claims that corporate tax rates have fallen markedly over the 14 years. It claims the UK Government instigated the ongoing reductions in the mid-1980s, by reducing tax rates from 52 to 35 per cent. KPMG notes that companies are sensitive to tax rates, and will relocate their capital and labour accordingly.
