Puberty blot: why your angel has a brain explosion.

Nov 14, 2006 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- New research suggests that human brain activity may deteriorate when a child passes through puberty. The research, based on a study of 323 people aged between nine and 17 years, may explain why generally mild-mannered children can change overnight into disruptive and disorganised adolescents. Conducted by Suzanne Czech, of the University of New South Wales' School of Psychology, the research found that those who had not yet entered puberty tended to perform better in psychological tests designed to measure how readily their brains could organise and analyse data than those who had entered puberty one or two years prior.
