News ready to rekindle Softbank flame with MySpace Japan joint venture.

Nov 06, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A Japanese version of the popular social networking site MySpace will be launched. According to a Japanese newspaper the operation will be a 50-50 joint venture between News Corporation and Softbank Corporation, Japan's leading broadband services provider and a major shareholder in Yahoo! Japan. Yahoo! has 45 per cent of the internet advertising market in Japan. News chairman Rupert Murdoch is expected to announced the venture in Tokyo on 7 November 2006.
