Dec 11, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Woodside Petroleum's new director of North-West Shelf ventures, Eve Howell, has received the "Western Australian Gas Industry Development" award. Howell left her position as MD of Apache Energy's Australian business to join Woodside earlier in 2006, and is regarded as a role model for women in the oil and gas industries. CEO of The Chamber of Minerals & Energy of Western Australia, Tim Shanahan, said the award is a recognition of Howell's achievements at Apache. Howell was closely involved in the development of the John Brookes gas field and a gas hub at Varanus Island.
