NAB fails net balancing act.

Dec 11, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The National Australia Bank (NAB) internet banking software has a bug that displays credit card payments as debts. The glitch affects deposits made by cheque only, which are shown incorrectly until the cheque has cleared. While management had been unaware of the problem until early December 2006 and it will be fixed soon, call centre staff have been receiving customer complaints about it for some time. It is not an error at the actual account level, but the display anomaly is still likely to dent some users' confidence in the online system. The bank had upgraded the software recently, and is also keen to introduce improved authentication and security measures to thwart "phishing"...
