Planners warned of clumsy generation.
Australasian Business Intelligence, December, 2006

Dec 05, 2006 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The University of New South Wales is conducting research into associations between cramped urban spaces and clumsiness in children. The study suggests that children who grow up in high-density areas may have impaired social and motor skills. Focusing on lower-income families, research found that flats and apartments did not allow for room to move around or play outside. A large proportion of Sydneysiders live in flats and 17.2 per cent of those are families with children under 15 years old. An increase in high-density living means that the phenomenon might affect middle to high income earners in the future.
