Jan 24, 2007 (Independent Financial Adviser - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Allco Finance Group and Babcock & Brown (B&B) are trying to end Macquarie Bank's domination of Australian banking and finance. B&B's latest initiative is to buy US wind farms through B&B Wind Partners. Mike Younger, an analyst at Citigroup, believes that it will not be easy for B&B to challenge Macquarie. B&B has 768 staff while Macquarie has 8,986 employees. In 2006, Macquarie increased its assets under management by $A13 billion, compared to B&B's $A10 billion.
