Mergers let tax firms offer more.

Jan 11, 2007 (International Tax Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- KPMG member firms in Germany and Great Britain are planning to merge into a single entity, KPMG Europe LLP. KPMG Europe LLP will be chaired jointly by John Griffith-Jones, currently Chairman of KPMG LLP (Great Britain), and Rolf Nonnenmacher, currently Chairman of the Managing Board, KPMG Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft. Meanwhile, Deloitte announced a merger between its British and Swiss member firms. The firm's Swiss companies will be wholly owned by Deloitte & Touche in Great Britain. Gerhard Ammann will be the chairman and CEO of the Swiss practice.
