Tattersall's European gamble looks a winner.

Jan 09, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Shareholders have approved of plans by Tattersall's to acquire British group, Talarius. Talarius, which has 197 gaming sites, is listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange. Tattersall's bid was launched in partnership with Macquarie Bank, under the European Gaming Limited joint venture. European Gaming was forced to raise the offer price to Stg2.80 per share in order to secure the support of Talarius's institutional investors. A court hearing to sanction the takeover may take place in the UK on 29 January 2007. Tattersall's stock closed trade in Australia $A0.04 higher on 9 January, at $A3.87.
