Jan 09, 2007 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A new demographic profile of Australian academics has raised questions on recruit and retirement. The profile produced by Professor Ian Dobson of Monash University has shown that education academics are substantially older than those in the sciences. The Federal Education Minister, Julie Bishop, asserted on 9 January 2007 that people management and recruitment is the responsibility of universities.
