Jan 08, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia needs to selectively pick economic reforms that are working in various countries around the world. The UK has seen improvements in its education and health systems by comprehensively reporting results. London has reduced traffic congestion through specific levies while Singapore, Santiago and Toronto achieved similar results by increasing tolls at peak times. Europe has successfully introduced carbon trading and its most successful economies have aggressively reduced corporate taxes. The Netherlands and the UK have also significantly reduced red tape in government, reducing costs to business and all taxpayers.
