Returns at risk from US, China.
Australasian Business Intelligence, January, 2007
Byline: Robin Bromby
Jan 01, 2007 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The returns of Australian investors could be affected by overseas events in 2007. While analysts are optimistic about the future of the Australian sharemarket, they have warned that a negative event could have a great impact on the market. Shane Oliver, of AMP Capital Investors, says that corrections are becoming larger and investors should be cautious when sentiment begins to drive the market. He believes that the greatest risks could come from a slowing of the US or Chinese economies. Craig James, of CommSec, predicts that share prices could fall by up to 15 per cent.
