Jan 29, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- There is speculation that a North American asset manager may be the bidder for Australian developer, Multiplex. Brookfield has assets under management of over $US50 billion ($A65.7 billion) and specialises in property and infrastructure. Multiplex's share price had risen on the prospect of an offer but fell to $A4.59 on 29 January 2007 as investors considered the position. Other possible private equity deals also attracted the attention of investors.
