Feb 02, 2007 (Weekly Tax Bulletin - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Superannuation simplification will be treated by the Australian Taxation Office as its priority in 2007. Michael D'Ascenzo, Commissioner of Taxation, said in his speech delivered at the Australasian Tax Teachers Association Conference, held on 22-24 January 2007, that the ATO has established a number of working groups to assist it with implementing the new super regime, covering areas such as self managed superannuation fund auditors and administrators, large funds, administrators and clearing houses, software providers and developers, and defined benefit funds.
