Feb 01, 2007 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A class action law suit against Australian carrier Qantas Airways is being prepared by Maurice Blackburn Cashman. The law firm is seeking companies who suffered financially due to an alleged price cartel on air freight rates involving Qantas and six other airlines. An investigation is underway by US and EU authorities, and vacuum cleaner manufacturer Auskay has already lodged a suit for compensation in the Federal Court

of Australia. German company Lufthansa in September 2006 reached a settlement worth $US85m ($A110m) in a related case. Qantas is also facing a separate civil suit by travel agents, represented by law firm Slater & Gordon, over commissions and fuel...
