Oops: Macquarie reveals it lost contract.

Feb 07, 2007 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Sydney's Macquarie University has lost the only signed copy of vice-chancellor Di Yerbury's employment contract, it has been revealed. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, which has been enlisted to examine a number of corporate governance issues, was told by the administration there is no record of the university council being aware of any details relating to Yerbury's contract. The missing contract complicated negotiations with Yerbury over her payout after 20 years as vice-chancellor. Yerbury's successor, Steven Schwartz, opposed Yerbury's leave payment for her final year, which was estimated by the council's remuneration committee at $A1,578,586. The actual amount...
