Australasian Business Intelligence, February, 2007

Feb 06, 2007 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A decrease in enrolments has resulted in redundancies at RMIT University's mathematics department in February 2007. Eight positions will be cut from the school of mathematical and geospatial sciences. The National Tertiary Education Industry Union criticised RMIT for reducing staff in one of its primary study areas. The cut-backs add to the growing Australian crisis in maths teaching staff.
