Retailer reels out internet film service.

Feb 07, 2007 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- US retailer Wal-Mart has launched a downloadable digital film service. The service, which provides access to over 3,000 film titles, may challenge the predominance of Apple's iTunes in the sector. Wal-Mart's service is backed by Warner Bros, Walt Disney, Paramount, Sony, 20th Century Fox and Universal in an effort to alleviate pressure on the decreasing growth of the DVD market. Due to fears of alienating DVD retailers, only Paramount and Disney have made titles available through iTunes.
