Feb 05, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- One of the great tragedies in Papua New Guinea (PNG) is the toll taken by HIV/AIDS. It is spreading in PNG and some 1 of the population, or 64,000 people, is affected. A coalition of business leaders has grouped together to fight this disease. They have formed the PNG Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS. Business groups have the money to educate people about the virus and teach them to protect themselves. Australian companies which are working to help stamp out AIDS in PNG include Qantas, PricewaterhouseCoopers, News Limited, BHP Billiton and law firm Deacons.
