Tiger eyes up rivals.

Feb 20, 2007 (Travel Weekly - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Tiger Airways plans to launch a new domestic airline in direct competition with Virgin Blue and Qantas. The carrier, which is 49 per cent owned by Singapore Airlines, is currently seeking regulatory approval for the new airline. Tony Davis, the CEO of Tiger, says his ambition is to end the "cosy monopoly" in Australia. He asserted that the duopoly causes consumers to pay more than they should be paying.
