Congress approves investment-friendly tax breaks.

Feb 15, 2007 (Tax Notes International - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Small businesses in Chile should benefit from recent tax changes. From 23 January 2007, tax credits for fixed asset purchases increased to 6. This increase should encourage spending on plant and equipment. The tax credit for taxes paid abroad in countries without a tax treaty with Chile was also increased from 17 to 30, although the Finance Minister, Andres Velasco, says that as the number of countries is "close to zero" this should cost the country little.
