Howard, Trujillo still not pen pals.

Australasian Business Intelligence, February, 2007

Byline: Matt O'Sullivan

Feb 15, 2007 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The CEO of Australian telco Telstra, Sol Trujillo, is not a close friend of the Australian Government. Telstra management has been at loggerheads with the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) over the plan to build a fibre-optic broadband network. Telstra has refused to commit to building the planned $A4 billion infrastructure unless the ACCC backs off on its requirement that Telstra's rivals have access to the network at certain prices. Telstra has been cold toward the ACCC and its regulations. Trujillo is still hopeful that talks about the new broadband network can be restarted.
