[299] Streamlining prudential regulation: ASFA submission released.

Australasian Business Intelligence, March, 2007

Byline: Lisa Mak

Mar 06, 2007 (Weekly Tax Bulletin - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia has responded to a Treasury proposals paper. The body stated that "Streamlining Prudential Regulation: Response to Rethinking Regulation" addressed several of its concerns, especially inconsistencies in breach reporting regulations for trustees of super funds. The association argued that more consultation is needed before Proposal 2.1 of the paper is implemented, and queried the lack of explanation of suggested reforms to the power of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.
