Mar 04, 2007 (Tax Notes International - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Brazil announced on 6 February 2007 that it would be abolishing the 10 per cent royalty tax (CIDE) on imported software. The decision applies only to off-the-shelf software and not software imported as a result of a transfer of technology, and is retrospective to 1 January 2006.
